Sara R. Yazdani is an associate professor of art history and art theory at the Department of Art and Craft at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She is a research affiliate with the cluster of excellence “Matters of Activity: Image Space Material,” a special lecturer at the University of the Arts, London, and a curator and researcher of the collaborative research project Parallel Ecologies.

Her work is published in Art Journal, Afterimage, Flash Art, Artforum International, Mousse Magazine, Kunstkritikk, Art & Education, Objektiv, and a number of anthologies and exhibition catalogues on modern and contemporary art.

Yazdani’s fields of research and teaching are modern and contemporary art with a particular focus on ecology, the relationship between art, media, technologies, theories of the Anthropocene, and process philosophy. She is currently working on her first monograph, Self-Sufficiency and Becoming, a critical history of Wolfgang Tillmans’s oeuvre, and the reemergence of an ecological approach to the visual art.
